It all began when Mr. Robert EL KHOURY attended a number of lectures and training sessions related to plastic recycling in both Italy & France back in 1988. Fascinated with the processes, he was determined upon his return to Lebanon to reduce pollution and to protect our natural resources. Setting up a recycling operation became an immediate objective.
He started small, with a 60-sqm plastic recycling setup named after his initials – ROKYPLAST. By 1994, the operation had already expanded to 1,000 m2, and this was only the beginning of realizing Mr. Robert’s dreams. Working with full dedication, the operation was on a path of steadfast expansion until by 2007, the vision became reality with the inauguration of a 6000-m2 facility that was to be the home base for ROKY PLAST S.A.L.
Between 2008 till 2011, the firm expanded to cover operations spread over 12,000 m2.
In 2013, ROKY PLAST S.A.L. became the Sole Agent in Lebanon and in the Middle East, for IONIAN KALK S.A. and CARBOKAL S.A., both Greek companies concerned with the mining and processing of amorphous calcium carbonate CaCO3.
At the end of 2016, ROKY PLAST S.A.L. introduced to the Lebanese market its newly added product the CACO3 compound and master batch.
Today, ROKY PLAST S.A.L. is one of the leading companies in Lebanon for producing recycled and raw plastic material across Lebanon, several Arab European countries such as Italy, Greece, France, Belgium, as well as a number of African Counties
